TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 269, Van Buren County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 269 begins at Iowa 16 approximately two and one‑half miles south of the City of Stockport, and travels northerly into the City of Stockport.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑269‑0 (1)‑‑2M‑89, between Van Buren County and the Iowa Department of Transportation transferred that portion of Iowa 269 from Iowa 16 approximately two and one‑half miles south of the City of Stockport northerly to the south corporate limits of the City of Stockport to county jurisdiction on July 28, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑269‑0(2)‑‑2M‑89, between the City of Stockport and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 269 from the south corporation line northerly to Cedar Street to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached descrip­tion of Iowa 269 in Van Buren County from the primary road system.

 

Remove from the primary road system Iowa 269 and its extension in Van Buren County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner Section 31‑T70N‑R8W (junction Iowa 16); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, and 19‑T70N‑R8W to the south corporation line of the City of Stockport connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Stockport:

 

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly on an unnamed street to Cedar Street.

Iowa 269 begins at Iowa 16 approximately 3 miles south of Stockport, and travels northerly to a point in Stockport, Iowa.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 269 in Van Buren County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 269 in Van Buren County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Iowa Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
